D041244 - Concrete pavement restoration to improve efficiency and provide a smoother driving surface to help ensure the continued safety of the traveling public on Southern State Pkwy at the following locations in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County: Southern State Parkway (908M) Sagtikos State Parkway (908K) to Sunrise Highway (NY27) including Travel Lanes and Ramps Proposed work in this project is to restore pavement to good condition using cost effective pavement treatments which provide a service life of 30 years. Several treatment options may be utilized within the project limits including full depth doweled type of High Early Strength (HES) repairs, partial depth asphalt spall repair, rapid setting concrete spall repair, and any necessary crack sealing. The restoration work will include entrance and exit ramps. Diamond grinding will be done at selected locations. Pavement markings will be replaced and modified as needed in accordance with the latest MUTCD, NYS MUTCD Supplement, and NYSDOT Standard Sheets. The work also includes, where necessary, essential frame and grate adjustments for grates that are broken or grates that are low prior to pavement repair. Drainage structure will be cleaned, excluding concrete block catch basins. Utility valve adjustments, manhole adjustments, and worn covers should be included if existing conditions dictate a need.
